job schedule change in redwood CPS

Hi Every one

 

I have a new requirement in my environment, we are using redwood CPS for batch job scheduling. Recently we created target group in backend system using sm61 ,we changed one job in backend, and the same job is imported in redwood, the job is successfully completed. We have monitored the same for 2 days, and there is no issue.

 

Now the actual requirement, I want to modify for the entire set of jobs, we have around 3000 jobs in our ECC server which gets triggered from CPS. Basically I want to insert "target group" in to all the jobs of redwood CPS to ECC server.

 

Forgot to mention, Redwood has an option to disable any servers, but that is not working. We have disabled our CI, still jobs are getting triggered in CPS.This is the reason why target groups are created.

 

Can any one knows or suggest a method to do the same, as you know, changing at the backend and importing in to redwood takes minimum 5 min.

How to receive mail Alerts from CPS?

Hi Experts,

 

Need help on receiving alert mail from CPS.

 

I do not even want the log files. Just need a alert if a job goes to ERROR status.

 

As far as I analysed, I got to now that we have to submit the definitions System_Mail_Configure and System_Mail_Send with  the necessary details.

 

But though I tried, I did not get any mails.

 

Can you help me out in filling the below blanks.

 

In the job definition System_mail_configure.

Below question might sound silly but please bear.

 

Can I give "DETECT" in From and give any email ID in Server (gmail or my company's mail id)?

After all this, should I submit these two, first CONFIGURE job and second SEND job?

SAP CPS - SYSTEM_FTP * jobs (e.g. SYSTEM_FTP_list)

Hi SCN,

 

We're looking at using the SYSTEM_FTP* jobs to pass files between CPS and remote SAP OS layers.

However we notice that :

"hostname of the FTP server to connect with"

.. is a mandatory field - where are the options for this set?

 

We are running against a queue connecting to an existing UNIX Platform Agent Process Server, so I would have thought if we just manually typed in the correct server address this would work, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

CPS Cronacle 7.0

Hi, my customer has the standalone version of CPS Cronacle 7.0  (the version prior to SAP CPS for NW 7.0)  which seems to be out of maintenance as of May 2014.  They are planning to proceed with an upgrade to SAP CPS V8 in the 2nd half of 2014 but there will be a period of non-maintenance between the end of CPS Cronacle 7.0 maintenance and their upgrade go-live ! We usuallu offer extended/customer specific maintenance periods but  didn’t find any info on that version on the service market place product availability matrix.

 

Any advise will be welcome...

SAP_SynchronizeInterceptionCriteria Job Definitions

Dear Experts,

 

When i checked this default job definition found that it is possible to make the job scheduling will be transferred from SAP system to SAP CPS.

However after scheduling also am not able to intercept the jobs via CPS.

How do we confirm whether job is scheduled via CPS or SAP system?

I maintained the below parameters for the job definition

 

SAP->scheduler

Append option

 

However when i tried to hold the particular job at CPS am unable to do so.

Please clarify whether i can use this job for that purpose or not.

Continue chain but mark it error

Hello,

 

we use Jobchains in SAP CPS as general container for all kinds of Jobs.

Sometimes we have several Jobs which are logically independet from each other and do the same thing e.g. for different company codes, but we put them together in one jobchain because they follow the same scheduling pattern, which makes them easier to handle.

 

Because these Jobs are independet from each other we set the status handler On Error: Continue and On Killed: Continue, so that the other jobs still run, when another has failed (we don't want them to run parallel because they access the same database tables, which would slow them down).

 

The thing is that we don't see it in the monitor when one of those "subchains" runs on error because the "mainchain" is marked as completed.

 

Is there a possibilty to mark the "mainchain" with error even though the chain continues if one step runs on error?

 

Changing the Monitor so that it displays also subchains on error is not an option because sometimes it is also the other way round, and it is desired that the mainchain is marked as completed although a step went on error, and this would drastically decrease the overview in our monitor.

Redwood Process Server Question

Good Day Everyone,

 

I have run into a puzzling development which is why I am reaching out to this Forum.  I have two process servers that are defined to one queue.  The reasoning behind this is that one server (Process Server “A” for this discussion) is the active server.  The other server (Process server “B”) sits in a passive mode.  Every Saturday, the active server goes into passive mode and the passive server goes into passive mode. (So far – so good?)  Since both of these servers are defined to one queue, I was under the impression that when the failover occurs on Saturday, the jobs running against that queue wouldn’t care – they would continue to run as if nothing happened.  Oh – so wrong was I!!  The jobs continue to run against the server that was active but is now passive – thus lots and lots of failures.  The only way around this anomaly was to stop/start the queue which seems to clear up the problem (so I thought).  Recently however, some jobs, for whatever reason, will try to run against the passive side anyway. At first I thought that it was a resource thing so I tried various things like Locks and Resources ball to no avail.  Finally I got disgusted and just removed the passive process server from the queue but that really sucks because I’ll have to re-ad once again on Saturday so that it can the active server.  Has anyone every run into this situation before?  I swear that it a Redwood “thing” but I am not sure how to resolve it.  HELP!  Many thanks.

ROLL forward option on a WeekDay

I am having an issue, getting batch jobs in redwood, to roll on holidays.

 

For example, these are payroll jobs., they run, weekly Monday, but if Monday is a holiday, they are to roll forward to to run Tuesday.

I cannot get this to work?

Can Redwood intercept and combine the output of all jobs in one chain then put this on a network share?

We have a request from Security to use Redwood to run jobs for PS1, in the background, then intercept the output, combine it and send it to

a network share.

This would be 1 Chain with 10 steps with each step having its own spool output.  At the end of the Chain , Redwood would intercept all of this

output , zip it together, then send this zip file to a network share to be used by Security and Auditors.

i would like to setup a schedule, to run a batch file on my server - how to do this using redwood ? Can anyone guide me please

Points needed,

How to create a job for the same

Where to set my server in redwood

Where to set the schedule

How to make it run daily.

 

The question might sound silly, but since there is not much documentation am expecing a reply from the community. Let me know ASAP.

CPS Report with Schedule and Job Parameter Information

Is it possible to create a report in CPS that will provide the below information?

 

Job Number

Job Name

Description

Program Name

Variant name

Time Window

Submit Frame

Job Chain Name

 

I am aware how to create a filter, then the report and use it with the system job to get the HTML format file through email.

What I am struggling to get is Schedule information (Time Window and Submit Frame) and Prog Name and Variant Information in the report (through a filter)

Using Tables in Parameter default expresion or simple constraint

Hi,

 

Should be straight forward, but could not get it working:

 

I try to use a table with standard information for  input or validation for JobChain parameters:

 

Goal:

1) first check if GCC (KEY) does exist in the table.

2) pre-fill parameters based on the first GCC parameter.

Error mesages:

     No such identifier :: chainParameters

Trying:

     when I replace it by an hardcoded string 'WLZ'

     =Table.getColumnString('CustomerParametersTable', 'WLZ' , 'SystemClient')

    

Error:

     No such table CustomerParametersTable

 

1) how to use the GCC parameter?

2) Same as 1st issue, table could not be found...

  

Probably something simple, but can't find it...

Set job on hold by script

Hello,

 

I want to set a certain cycle job on hold and release it by script because the action should take place in the night (no office hours).

Is this possible? I cannot use the Jobgroup-End-Option because I don't know before when the maintenance will be started.

 

I think to schedule a job for the hold-time, which has a parameter "Job". The parameter will be filled by choosing a Jobdefinition from the "Query filter All Jobdefinitons".

How I get the Job I want to hold from the Jobdefinition by script?

 

...

JobDefinition jd = jcsSession.getJobDefinitionByName(strJobName);

Long ID = jd.getUniqueId();

??? how I get the Job j from the UniqueId  ???

 

j.hold();

iPhone User Cannot Logon

I am trying to enable iPhone access to a certain user.  The user has already been granted with Iphone_Access global privilege.  But the user is still not able to login via mobile.  Username and password has been checked multiple times already.  Enabling iphone=debug in dynamic trace shows:

 

ERROR 2014-03-03 05:50:56,123 Asia/Shanghai [SAPEngine_Application_Thread[impl:3]_31] com.redwood.scheduler.iphone.servlet.IPhoneHandler - Error during login for user: USERNAME
com.redwood.scheduler.security.api.LoginException: Not logged in

 

"Not Logged In" is not much help on where the problem is.  Has anyone encountered this problem before?  Any leads?

EXM300 ERROR

Hi Folks,

 

I am getting an error now a day’s frequently in SAP CPS thatEXM300. We are executing a job chain and at a particular step it's getting failed. And it's saying "EXM300BC-BATCH {>U,041} User & is currently carrying out".

 

Below is the complete scenario:

 

At step 4(say) we are executing 2 Mass activity & both is for Invoice. At copy templates job is executing successfully but when it's going to execute the Mass activity job then one mass activity is getting failed.

 

PS: Neither Dump has been created in SAP nor in System logs & I didn't found anything . Spool and logs says same thing. I have attached details in attachment.

 

By looking at error we can say that User is performing some/same action so it was getting failed But why it was not happened from last 3 years and it's not getting failed on daily but frequently. And we are not getting any error in testing enviroment.

If anyone has faced this issue or any idea on this, please advice.

Managing Jobs at Outage & Queue Release

Hi

 

I have a scenario and I bet many would have faced the same issue to. However, I am not sure of a solution for this.

 

Scenario:

I have a Job Chain - JC_Load_Chain which is scheduled to run 10 PM everyday. This chain has been chosen with a 'Job Group Presubmit Count' = 2 in the Submit Frame window.

 

So if we will see this job at 8 PM today, we would see one schedule at 10 PM Today and another schedule 10 PM Tomorrow.

Let us say, the queue for this chain is held at 9 PM today for a Source System outage. Now the status of the above two mentioned scheules with turn to "Queue Held" status.

The outage is going to exist until 11 PM of tomorrow, which really means, once the Queue is released, both the above mentioned jobs are going to get released and there is going to be a double run.

 

How should we avoid this situation?

 

My expectation is, just no matter what if the 10 PM is crossed, I don't want it to run even. It should simply be cancelled.

 

Please help with your inputs

SAP CS 8.0 - question to parallel tasks in one job chain

Dear all,

 

I have a question about job chains in SAP CPS/Redwood

 

We have a job chain like this:

 

Job 1

     Job 1.1

               Job 1.1.1

               Job 1.1.2

     Job 1.2

                Job 1.2.1

...

 

The Jobs 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 should start  when the Job 1.1 is compled and don't have to wait until Job 1.2 is complete.

 

How could I release it in Redwood in one job chain? Should I use a precondition in the job definition of 1.1 and 1.2?

Rebates sales order

In 4.7 sap was working, but now in 6.0 doesn't work anymore.

 

 

I'm creating a Rebate sales order, using  -> VB02 -> Rebate Payments -> Final Settlement -> Automatic , and Rebate Payments -. Credit memo request -> Change.

 

When I look at my sales order all the values is zero. Can you help me, why this is coming as zero ?

 

I saw the configuration and the Rebate is active.
